Ved Vyas dictates the Mahabharata to Lord Ganesha
Maharashi Vyas who wrote the Mahabharata needed a scribe who could write down the verses as per his instructions. However, the ideal scribe needed to know first understand the meaning of the verses and only then write them down.
Ganpati was the ideal choice for this job.
